Exciting ski races on Epiphany weekend

The year 2025 has arrived. And with it, the winter sports season is really getting started. A variety of competitions were held across the country over the holidays. This was also the case with the Alpine ski racers, who competed in Taisten.

The Marlene Cup continued with the fourth stage at the Guggenberg ski lift. In the U18 category, the young women's huge talent Victoria Klotz from RG Wipptal won the slalom, which was also counted as the national championship, with a time of 1.29,89 minutes. Arianna Putzer from SC Gröden came in second (1.32,53 minutes), and Rebecca Vetturini from Kronplatz Skiteam came in third (1.32,80 minutes). In the U21 category, Nora Pernstich from TZ Überetsch won, and was also the fastest of the day with a time of 1.29,48 minutes. Only one other South Tyrolean from her age group crossed the finish line, Katharina Gasser from TZ Jochtal came in second with a time of 1.39,25 minutes.


In the men's category, David Castlunger from the Ski Team Alta Badia won the U18 category (1.21,67:1.22,14 minutes) ahead of Alex Silbernagl from the Seiser Alm Skiteam (1.24,53:21 minutes) and Alberto Davare, also from the Ski Team Alta Badia (1.21,06:1.21,96 minutes). In the U1.23,13, Jonas Feichter from the ASV Gsiesertal took the win with the best time of the day of XNUMX:XNUMX minutes, Lukas Sieder from the RG Wipptal came second with a time of XNUMX:XNUMX minutes, and Max Clara from the Kronplatz Ski Team came third with a time of XNUMX:XNUMX minutes.

But that was not the only alpine skiing event that ASV Taisten had to organize this weekend. Two more slaloms took place at the Guggenberg ski lift, which count towards the Raiffeisen Grand Prix as the regional cup. In the U16 age group, the SC Gröden achieved a double victory with Nicole Piccolruaz (1.24,18 minutes) and Francesca Miribung (1.25,53 minutes), followed by Petra Dander from TZ Jochtal (1.25,85 minutes). In the boys' category of the same age, Noah Gasteiger (ASV Gsiesertal/1.17,58 minutes) won, ahead of Matthias Mahlknecht (SC Gröden/1.17,75) and Simon Kaser (Seiser Alm Skiteam/1.19,62).

The fastest girl in the U14 was Hannah Mahlknecht from the Seiser Alm Skiteam with a time of 1.21,18:1.21,80 minutes. Second place went to Gloria Kostner from SC Gröden (1.22,25:1.21,32 minutes), third place went to Letizia Wenter Heiss from ASC Sarntal (1.22,08:1.22,11 minutes). In the boys' category, victory went to Lukas Rabanser (SC Gröden/XNUMX:XNUMX minutes), who left Samuel Prantl from SC Ulten (XNUMX:XNUMX) and his Gröden teammate Alan Piccolruaz (XNUMX:XNUMX minutes) behind.
