Two stars are overjoyed, another is not

The giant slalom in Sestriere couldn't have gone better for Italy's ski women: Marta Bassino ended a long dry spell, Federica Brignone found her best form thanks to a brilliant second run and Asja Zenere surprised everyone in eleventh place. Only Sofia Goggia struggled with her result – and her performance – after the race.

The fact that Marta Bassino is in enviable form was evident in the first few races. And so it came as no surprise on Saturday that the 26-year-old celebrated her sixth World Cup victory.
