A ski baby with a big name is here

Carlo Janka's family happiness is perfect: the ex-ski star became a father for the third time this week. Little Lina was born on Thursday, as Janka and his wife Jennifer announced on Instagram.

The special thing about it: Lina was not born in the hospital, but in the Jankas' house. “We were able to welcome our little Lina at home in Obersaxen. We are overjoyed that Lina now completes our family and that everyone is doing well,” wrote the Swiss couple to the many ski fans.

The midwives who made the home birth possible were also thanked. “Thanks to you, we were able to experience a wonderful birth,” said the Jankas. The family is now five. The youngsters will have plenty of skiing genes: Carlo Janka has celebrated an Olympic victory, a world championship title and an overall World Cup triumph in his career. He is considered one of the greatest Swiss ski racers in history.
