Double World Cup spectacle in Carezza definitely confirmed

The double World Cup spectacle in Carezza Dolomites is confirmed: At the FIS Autumn Meetings in Geneva, the Snowboard World Cup on Thursday, December 17, and the Telemark races on Thursday, January 14, and Friday, January 15, were officially added to the international race calendar. A total of six events will take place at the Karerpass – three each for women and men.

Carezza Dolomites boasts two unique features in the South Tyrolean winter sports scene. The FIS Snowboard World Cup is the first World Cup event of the upcoming winter in South Tyrol and takes place on Thursday, December 17th. And as the only resort in South Tyrol, Carezza Dolomites will host a second event of the top international racing series, the Telemark World Cup, a month later. World Cup points and daily victories will be contested on both days.

Both events at the Karerpass have become classics – albeit with differing histories. The Snowboard World Cup is making its 16th appearance on the Pra Di Tori slope, which has been described by top snowboarders as the most challenging course on the circuit. This makes it one of the most traditional events in alpine snowboarding, and it enjoys an excellent reputation among athletes, officials, and partners alike. "I am convinced that the many small improvements in various areas will further enhance the quality of the event next winter," says FIS Race Director Uwe Beier.

The Masarè slope “belongs” to the telemark skiers

The Telemark World Cup is still a rookie in comparison: the races in mid-January 2027 will only be held for the fifth time. Because many people on the organizing team are also key figures in the Snowboard World Cup, the event benefits from a wealth of experience. Accordingly, the best telemark skiers are eager to come to the Dolomites region to showcase their skills on the Masarè slope. They emphasize this time and again when interviewed in the finish area or at the award ceremonies.

The Telemark skiers will meet in January.

“The World Cups in Carezza Dolomites are a fantastic showcase for our winter sports resort. The Snowboard World Cup, in particular, allows us to reach our target audience at the start of the season and demonstrate to the world that we are ready. Of course, a great deal of work goes into both events. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team, all the organizations involved, and the many volunteers. Without them, these two events would not be possible,” emphasizes Florian Eisath, Managing Director of Carezza Dolomites.
