Night of Tyrolean Sports: Ski champions dominate
As part of the annual Tyrolean athlete election, the top athletes of 2023 were chosen last Friday. With Stephanie Venier and Manuel Feller, two alpine skiers ended up at the top.

The event held by ORF Tyrol and the Tiroler Tageszeitung was organized, took place in front of an audience of around 900 guests in the Dogana in the Innsbruck Congress. In total, around 45 participants cast their votes. The voting took place in five categories: the most popular athlete, the most popular athlete, outstanding athletes with disabilities and the team of the year.
Manuel Feller won both the World Cup and the coveted Crystal Globe in slalom in 2023 and was honored as Athlete of the Year 2023 for this achievement. Stephanie Venier, who was part of the historic ÖSV triple victory in the Super-G in Kvitfjell, dominated the women's event. For the first time, the Team of the Year award went to lugers Celina Egle and Lara Kipp, who won two silver medals in the doubles and doubles sprint in the discipline's debut season.
Pole vaulter is Rising Star of the Year
The outstanding achievements in sports for the disabled were also recognized. Martin Falch secured the men's title for the eleventh time, while Jasmin Plank was voted the most popular disabled athlete for the second time. In addition, Dominik Huber was honored for his achievements in figure skating. The expert jury awarded the title of Rising Star of the Year to Magdalena Rauter, who attracted attention with impressive successes in the pole vault.Edit Profile
