Olympic champion marries according to local tradition

The German combined athlete Vinzenz Geiger has married his long-time girlfriend Lisa Schafroth. The wedding took place in the spirit of Allgäu tradition: the couple married in dirndls and lederhosen.

The 26-year-old Geiger and the 25-year-old Schafroth have been a couple for several years. Schafroth comes from a family of hoteliers in Oberstdorf and will also be called Geiger in the future. The 26-year-old, on the other hand, is known for his outstanding sporting achievements.

He is one of the most successful winter athletes in Germany: he won an Olympic gold medal in Pyeongchang in 2018 and in Beijing in 2022. There are also four silver medals at the Nordic World Ski Championships and a junior world championship title
