At 36 years old, Bulgarian Vladimir Iliev is one of the oldies in the biathlon circus. In the coming season he will be the second oldest ski hunter in the field after Simon Eder. However, Iliev is far from having enough - also because he has recently had a special injection of motivation. His fiancée Milena Todorova, also a biathlete, gave birth to their first child.
“Thank you, my love,” writes Iliev alongside a photo with his sweetheart. “You have made me the happiest daddy to this little girl. I love you.” A romantic declaration of love that shows how happy the biathlon couple is.
Iliev and Todorova became proud parents.
Incidentally, Iliev has already caused quite a stir in his sporting career. In 2019 he surprisingly won the silver medal in the World Cup singles in Östersund. His fiancée Todorova, who is eleven years his junior, had her career highlight so far at the 2020 Junior World Championships in Lenzerheide: the now 25-year-old won silver in the individual and bronze in the sprint and pursuit. Now she has to take a maternity break.
