Bø won the final men's mass start in a confident manner. The Norwegian exceptional talent missed once in the first shooting, but after that he made no mistakes and left one competitor after the other behind him.
With his 20th World Cup title, Bø is now a record world champion together with his compatriot Ole Einar Bjørndalen. With gold in the mass start, individual and pursuit, silver in the sprint and the mixed and men's relay as well as bronze in the single mixed, the 30-year-old won a medal in all seven races in Oberhof, like last year.
Silver went to the error-free sensation Andrejs Rastorgujevs from Latvia, bronze went to Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet (1 error).
Giacomel best Azzurro
However, Tommaso Giacomel's hoped-for individual medal came to nothing. The Trentino native, who won silver with Lisa Vittozzi in the single mixed relay, took 15th place on the last day of the World Championships with a whopping five shooting errors. But that still made him the best Azzurro. © Pierre TEYSSOT / Pierre TEYSSOT
Lukas Hofer only made no mistakes at the last stop; before that he had to go into the penalty loop a total of four times. In the end, the veteran from Montal took 19th place.
