After the strange race on Saturday, in which Eric Perrot surprisingly took victory, The persecution was therefore eagerly awaited. But it didn't last long and the Frenchman fell further and further back in the field. Unlike the day before, the favorites appeared to be in good shape. Johannes Thingnes Bø in particular was eager to forget his botched Saturday sprint and ran across the trail like the devil had possessed him. After an incredible comeback, the Norwegian crossed the finish line first, followed by his brother Tarjei Bø and Emilien Jacquelin, who was once again on the podium.
Even after the last shooting, the decision about victory in the pursuit had not yet been made. Although Sturla Holm Lægreid and Johannes Thingnes Bø took to the shooting range for the fourth time with a solid lead, both made a mistake and had to go into the penalty loop. This gave the second sprinter, Jacquelin, the chance to take the lead - which the Frenchman seized with lightning-fast hits.

The 10 seconds that separated Jacquelin from Bø in the last lap were gone after just a few moments. The exceptional talent from Norway flew past the Frenchman like the wind and ran unchallenged to victory in Soldier Hollow. Behind them, a group of three around Jacquelin, Lægreid and Tarjei Bø - who started from seven - competed in the finish sprint for second place, which the winner's brother took. Jacquelin had an advantage over Lægreid in the final meters and thus prevented a Norwegian three-pointeroh victory.
Giacomel is once again getting a taste of being at the top of the world
