“Our love is growing”: Biathlon queen is pregnant

She hung up her biathlon rifle and her cross-country skis a few months ago. Germany's biathlon queen will now take on a new role, namely the role of mother.

“Our love is growing,” wrote Denise Herrmann-Wick on social media late Thursday evening. She also posted a photo of herself with her husband Thomas, garnished with an ultrasound picture, with which she made it unmistakably clear: I'm going to be a mom soon!

“We are overjoyed and can’t wait to hold you in our arms,” wrote Herrmann-Wick about her baby in her stomach. With this, the former biathlete will celebrate the greatest success of her life, having already won almost everything there is to win in sport. The 34-year-old became an Olympic champion and two-time world champion, and she also won the small crystal ball in the sprint twice.

The couple presented the baby news with this photo.

In March 2023, Herrmann-Wick, who started her career as a cross-country skier, announced the end of her career. Now a new, exciting task awaits her and her husband Thomas Wick, who also used to be a cross-country skier.
