The flying hill in Planica is not for the faint of heart. Well over 200 meters is possible, especially if the wind conditions in the Valley of the Ski Jumps in Slovenia are ideal. Kobayashi's record was set in 2019.
Eetu Nousiainen came in qualification Although not that far, the consequences for the Finn are devastating. After landing his flight at 180 meters, his ski clipped and he fell badly. There had been a few falls before, but they had ended lightly. This cannot be said in the case of Nousianinen. The Scandinavian had to be transported away by helicopter.

Nousianinen was examined at the Jesenice hospital. The preliminary result: cruciate ligament tear and meniscus damage in the right knee. The Finnish TV channel Yle said Nousianinen: “I think a season like this needed an end like this.” The Finn has had a winter to forget. In the overall World Cup he is only in 53rd place.Edit Profile
