Strong qualifying performance: Dominik Zuech shines in Canada

Skicross racer Dominik Zuech delivered a strong qualifying performance in Craigleith, Canada, putting himself in a good position for the race.

Zuech posted the sixth-fastest time in qualifying. This made the 30-year-old from Lana the best Italian. Olympic champion Simone Deromedis finished in 18th place, while Olympic silver medalist Federico Tomasoni came in 20th. Yanick Gunsch from Matsch failed to finish qualifying, while Frenchman Youri Duplessis-Kergomard set the fastest time.

Zuech has certainly underlined his strong form: This year he has already finished 5th and 7th in the World Cup, and at the Olympics he secured a strong 9th place. Will he manage another leap forward in Canada? First up is another qualifying round on Friday, before the races take place on Saturday and Sunday.
