The individual competitions on Thursday were the first highlight of this year's Marmotta Trophy. In glorious weather and optimal snow conditions in the Martell mountains, two of the world's best ski mountaineers, Remi Bonnet (Switzerland) and Axelle Gachet Mollaret (France), emerged victorious. While this was Gachet Mollaret's fourth consecutive individual victory, the seasoned Bonnet celebrated his first triumph in the classic race in the Stelvio National Park.
It wasn't just the athletes who were raving about the more than successful start. Official representatives of the associations also had high praise. "Martell, with its incredible mountain scenery, is a paradise for ski mountaineers. A special thank you goes to the organizers for putting on a spectacular competition. Of course, the perfect weather also helped. It's like the icing on the cake in this discipline," said Massimo Rinaldi of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).
The entire competition route is visible
