Renate Gietl and Patrick Pigneter Italian toboggan champions

Renate Gietl laid the foundation for her success in the first run when she set the best time ahead of the 15-year-old Carmen Planötscher from Völs, who had already surprised in the European Cup the day before. In the second run, Evelin Lanthaler was the fastest. The 20-year-old from Moos in Passeier overtook Planötscher in the overall ranking and came second.

Among the men, Patrick Pigneter was once again in a class of his own. The 24-year-old from Völs set the best time in both runs and won with a lead of 58 hundredths over Hannes Clara from Val Badia. Third place went to Anton Blasbichler. Pigneter also took the doubles title with Florian Clara ahead of Clara-Gruber and the Aosta duo Scalet-Gaio.

In the youth categories, the titles went to Sarah Gruber from Latzfons and Alex Gruber from Villandro in the juniors. Carmen Planötscher and Martin Kerschbaumer from Feldthurn won among the candidates, Sandra Plieger from Felthurns and Fabian Malleier from Völlan won among the students, and Verena Hofer from Feldthurn and Lukas Gasser from Völs won among the students. Feldthurns and Völs were the two most successful clubs with four Italian championship titles.
