CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: There was a surprise victory at the World Cup in Minneapolis. US boy Gus Schumacher made it onto the podium for the first time in the 10-kilometer freestyle race - right at the top. Sweden's Jonna Sundling won the women's event. Michael Hellweger decided not to start.
BOB: At the 4-man Bobsleigh World Cup in Altenberg, old champion Francesco Friedrich took victory. Patrick Baumgartner landed in 6th place with his pushers Erica Fantazzini, Robert Mircea and Lorenzo Bilotti. The gap to Friedrich was just under a second (+0,93). Four tenths were missing from the podium. But the fact remains: Baumgartner is having the season of his life. The Pusterer had already been on the podium this winter.
TOBOGGANING RUN: South Tyrol's double-seater duo achieved their 8th podium place of the season in the final sprint competition in Oberhof. Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal took 3th place. Vötter/Oberhofer (4 points) are now ahead of the German duo (710) in the overall World Cup. Finished in the men's sprint Dominik Filehner and Leon Felderer places 8 and 10. The victory went to Max Langenhan. Verena Hofer finished the season in 15th place, one position ahead Nina Zöggeler (16th). In the final sprint competition, Hofer ended up in 14th place. The victory again went to Taubitz.

Veteran star Noriaki Kasai (43rd) was also at the start again. However, the 52-year-old Japanese did not finish in the points this time.
