At the European Cup Men’s Slalom in Berchtesgaden (Bavaria), Matteo Canins his first victory in this category. The 26-year-old from Abtei had never stood on a European Cup podium before - and now he is beaming from the top. Canins prevailed on Sunday ahead of the Italian Corrado Barbera (+0,29 seconds), who thus ensured a one-two victory for the azure blues.
At the European Cup women’s slalom in Zell am See, Celina Haller from Schenna in 8th place. The victory went to the Swiss Eliane Christen. Laura Steinmair from Olang took 16th place.

At the men's World Cup in Schonach, North Tyrolean Johannes Lamparter won on Sunday. The Grödner Aaron Kostner took two World Cup points in 29th place. In the women's race there was a Norwegian triple victory - led by Ida Marie Hagen. Daniela Dejori ended up in 15th place.

Eirin Maria Kvandal took the win on day two of the World Cup in Sapporo, Japan. The Norwegian jumped 129,5 and 136,5 metres on Sunday night and won with 248,4 points, ahead of the German Selina Freitag (228,0) and her compatriot Thea Minyan Björseth (226,7). The Val Gardena native Lara Malsiner finished in 17th place (173,5), her teammate Annika Sieff (25th/140,9) came further back. Martina Zanitzer (33./58,2) and Martina Ambrosi (40./34,2) missed the second round.
+++ CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING +++
For the women, the mass start over 20 kilometers in classic style took place on Sunday. The Swedes achieved a double victory: Frida Karlsson in 55.29,1 minutes ahead of her compatriot Ebba Andersson (+ 1.29,9 minutes). Third place went to the Austrian Teresa Stadlober (1.41,3 minutes behind).

At the Bobsleigh World Cup in Innsbruck, a German team consisting of Friedrich/Sommer/Schüller/Straub won the race. In general, the Germans were in top form that day, with three of the first four places being taken by German bobsledders (only second place went to a team from Great Britain). Patrick Baumgartner and his team of four finished the race in fifth place (0,8 seconds behind the winners). The second South Tyrolean, Alex Verginer, and his quartet, on the other hand, finished in 23rd place.

The Austrian Daniel Tschofenig took victory at the World Cup in Zakopane (Poland). With 316,7 points, he outperformed the competition. Alongside Tschofenig, the Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang (309,4 points) and Tschofenig's fellow countryman Jan Hörl (309,3 points) also made it onto the podium. Alex Insam from Val Gardena made it into the points rankings - he ended up in 249th place with 30 points.
