Broncos win spectacle: Super Bowl within reach

The Denver Broncos have won a playoff game in the NFL for the first time since their Super Bowl victory ten years ago, prevailing in a dramatic duel against the Buffalo Bills.

The home team won their game 33-30 with a field goal in overtime and are now just one win away from reaching the Super Bowl. Their opponents in the Conference Final next Sunday (local time) will be either the Houston Texans or the New England Patriots; the Broncos will host the game again.

“We played a really good game, they played really well. Respect to them. We found a way to win. Our defense stopped them, we had some good plays. I’m proud of this organization. It didn’t always look good, but we found a way to win this,” said Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. The 25-year-old threw three touchdown passes.

The most important moment of the game, however, came from a teammate on defense. Ja'Quan McMillian snatched the already caught football from his opponent while falling, thus not only preventing a promising opportunity for the Bills, but also enabling the Broncos to have a second offensive drive in overtime, which culminated in the game-winning field goal.

The Broncos failed to score in the first possession, putting the Bills in what should have been an excellent position to win. However, the unfortunate turnover cost Bills quarterback Josh Allen another season on the road to the Bills' first Super Bowl appearance since their four-game losing streak in the 90s.
