14 years at HC Meran: Now it's over for the captain

He has spent almost his entire ice hockey life in the jersey of HC Meran, but now it's over: Philipp Beber is ending his career.

The 31-year-old had been part of the Merano roster since 2011 – with the exception of the 2014/15 season, which he spent in Eppan and with EV Bozen – and played a total of 569 games for the Eagles. This makes Beber one of the players with the most appearances in the club's history.

For the past two years, Beber led HCM onto the ice as captain – most recently to the Alps Hockey League final. In his last season, the Merano native amassed another 60 appearances.

"I would like to thank everyone who has supported me." Philip Beber

At the end of his career, Beber expressed his gratitude to the Merano ice hockey family and those close to him: "I would like to thank everyone who has accompanied me during these years. Thank you to the entire club for your trust, the volunteers, the loyal fans, and above all, my family, who have always supported me."

HC Meran also bid farewell to their long-serving key player with words of thanks, acknowledging his commitment and contributions to the club. The spa town team will now further intensify their personnel preparations to be as well-equipped as possible for the start of the season.
