The Broncos crash into the Hawkey wall

Cortina remains the Wipptal Broncos' feared opponent in the current season. After the wild horses had already been eliminated by the Ampezzans in the Italian championship, they also had to admit defeat in the Master Round on Monday.

After a brilliant start to the Master Round with three successes in a row, the Wipptal Broncos have now become disillusioned. On Tuesday, Fabian Hackhofer & Co. lost their third game in a row. In the 0-3 defeat in Cortina, the Wild Horses missed the offensive power that has characterized them this season.

In an entertaining first third, both teams found excellent opportunities to score, but Hayden Hawkey in the Cortina goal and Wipptal goalie Jakob Rabanser didn't allow anything. In the second half of the game, the Ampezzo power play made it 1-0. After a shot from Riccardo Lacedelli, Jouka Juhola stood in the right place and used the rebound. National player Gregory Di Tomaso was then sent to the shower, but the Bronocos did very little in the five-minute power play.

No comeback

The offensive problems were not solved in the final third either. Cortina, on the other hand, struck ice cold. Diego Cuglietta reacted quickest after a deflection and pushed an abandoned puck into the empty net. Shortly before the end, Francesco Adami made everything clear with an empty-net goal.
