The Rittner Buam continue to rely on Öhler power

They share a surname, but are completely different in terms of playing style. What unites them, however, is their connection to their hometown club. Robert and Manuel Öhler will also be playing there next season: The Ritten cousins will continue to be part of the Ritten Buam squad.

Robert Öhler is the older of the two Ritten cousins, born in 2001. The 1,78-meter-tall, 78-kilogram attacker is a tough guy: He throws himself into opponents and the boards without compromise, always going where it hurts, and not letting injuries stop him.

He also repeatedly ventures into the slot, where he deflects shots, often succeeding. Last season, the 24-year-old scored 56 points (seven goals) in 15 games. As a native of Ritten, he's also an important piece of the dressing room puzzle.

The same goes for Manuel Öhler: He's even been on the Rittner Buam Alps Hockey League squad since the 2018/19 season. However, he's a completely different type of player: The 1,86-meter-tall, 85-kilogram attacker possesses excellent stickhandling and skating skills, often finding a way past one or more defenders. Last season, Öhler contributed 59 points (36 goals) in 15 games.

"Robert is very important to us; he finishes checks, blocks a lot of shots, and has also developed as a player. His presence on the ice and in the locker room is worth its weight in gold. Manuel has also had a good season; he's improving every year and has great potential. We hope he can even improve his scoring."
