An old acquaintance moves to Asiago

Following their exclusion from the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL), Asiago is busy building their roster for the new season in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL). The latest addition is a player who has already made his mark in South Tyrol.

Although the Stellati roster is far from complete, one thing is certain: the newly formed Asiago Hockey Club is fielding a strong team. Numerous ICEHL-tested players are joined by interesting foreign players like Ryan Valentini, who previously played for the Wipptal Broncos. Lucas Chiodo, who was introduced as a new Asiago player on Saturday, has a similar background.

He entered the AlpsHL at a young age via the Canadian junior and university leagues. He initially collected an impressive 54 points with Fassa, later also playing for Wipptal and HC Meran. For the past two seasons, he has been under contract with the Fife Flyers, who play in the British EIHL. Playing for the Scottish club, Chiodo has underscored his qualities, contributing 97 goals in 128 games. He is expected to build on these numbers in his fourth season in the AlpsHL.

Chiodo is hot

"Asiago has a successful tradition. I'm motivated and will give my all every night," the 26-year-old Chiodo is quoted as saying on social media.
