An Asiago player is the MVP of the Alps Hockey League

Ryan Valentini of HC Migross Asiago was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025/26 season by the specialist journalists of the Alps Hockey League.

The 28-year-old Canadian impressed across the board in his first season with the Italians, racking up an outstanding 92 points (35 goals | 57 assists) in 48 games. He also contributed nine points in the quarterfinals, but the center couldn't prevent the team's elimination against Merano.

With 92 points in just one season, Valentini ranks directly behind Ethan Szypula, last season's MVP, who holds the record for most points in an Alps Hockey League season with 103 points for Ritten. Matt Wilkins follows in third place with 89 points for Val Gardena in the 2019/20 season.

From Innsbruck to Asiago

Valentini moved from ICE Hockey League club Innsbruck to Asiago last summer. The 28-year-old – who already played for Sterzing in the Alps Hockey League in the 2020/21 season, accumulating 32 points in as many games – had no trouble settling in with the Italian team and scored consistently from the start.

Impressive: He only failed to register a point in five of his 48 games this season. The Canadian recorded two five-point games (three goals, two assists), and four points in four other games. He also scored a total of five hat tricks. Between October 4, 2025, and February 19, 2026, Valentini recorded at least one point in 34 consecutive games.

Gröden's goalie finishes in second place.

As the crowning achievement of his outstanding performances, Valentini was voted the season's most valuable player by ice hockey journalists. Val Gardena's goalie Claes Endre received the second-most votes. The netminder only joined the semifinalists in January and has been delivering tremendous results ever since: In 20 appearances so far, the Swede has already recorded four shutouts and boasts an impressive save percentage of 94,2%. Third place went to the current Young Star of the season, Maxim Eliseev of the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The 20-year-old is currently the fifth-highest scorer of the season with 71 points.

Final results of the Alps Hockey League 2025/26 MVP election:

1. Ryan Valentini (HCA) 30 points
2. Claes Endre (GHE) 21 points
3. Maxim Eliseev (RBJ) 17 points
