Shortly before the start of the match: Merano's quarter-final postponed

HC Meran was originally scheduled to play in Asiago on Thursday evening for a place in the Alps Hockey League semi-finals. However, the match was cancelled just a few hours before the planned start time.

The news arrived on Thursday around 16 p.m.: The fifth quarter-final match between HC Asiago and HC Meran, which was scheduled for 20 p.m., could not take place. The reason: There was a technical malfunction in the ice cooling system at Asiago's Hodegart Stadium.

Both teams quickly agreed on a rescheduled date: The quarterfinal will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. HC Meran can then secure their place in the semifinals. The team from Merano is surprisingly leading the best-of-seven series against Asiago 3-1. They need just one more win to advance to the semifinals.
