Val Gardena has its goalkeeper quartet

HC Gherdëina is working on its squad for the coming season and announced on Thursday which four goalkeepers they will be starting the upcoming season with.

Last season, the Furie decided to put their trust in local goalkeepers. Val Gardena is continuing this path this year, even though Hannes Stoll will no longer play for the AlpsHL league team.

The place of the former HC Pustertal goalkeeper is taken by Matthias Rindone. The Bozen native is (still) an unknown quantity in South Tyrolean ice hockey. But that could change quickly, because the 20-year-old was trained for four years at Pori Ässät in Finland. Before that, he was in the Bozen youth team. Most recently, Rindone played in the youth division of HC Innsbruck.

Paul Hofer remains number 1

Paul Hofer has secured the number 1 spot in the HCG goal. The Val Gardena native has had a decent debut season as a regular goalkeeper and can now prove himself again in the Alps Hockey League. With Leo Kostner and Arik Plancker, the Furie have two other local goalies in the squad. Both are scheduled to play for the 2nd team in the IHL 2st Division.
