Val Gardena brings back two lost sons

The Hockey Club Gherdëina has signed the next three strikers. This means that the attack for the upcoming season in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL) is almost complete.

The Furie can continue to count on the services of Yuri Cristellon, who has extended his contract by a year. Tobias Moroder and David Galassiti are also returning to the HCG. The attack now has eleven players, so only a few positions need to be filled. "Cirstellon is a fast, lively player who had a great season last year," emphasizes sports director Joel Brugnoli. "We are also happy that Moroder and Galassiti will be playing for us again. The latter can be used anywhere and returns as a more mature player with more experience. Last but not least, Moroder brings size and mass to the team. He knows how to use his body."

Yuri Cristellon learned to play ice hockey in Pergine, where he went through all the youth categories. At the age of 18, he moved to HC Pustertal and immediately demonstrated his great qualities with eight goals in his first season in the AlpsHL. After another season in Bruneck, he moved to the Wipptal Broncos in 2021. The 23-year-old right-handed shooter made the leap in quality in the following season in the Furie's jersey. In 34 games, the nimble winger scored 14 points. This year, number 25 went one step further and collected a strong 23 points.

Tobias Moroder, on the other hand, is returning to his hometown club after a year. The versatile striker moved to Alleghe last summer, where he was one of the top performers with 18 points in 28 games. The 22-year-old Moroder, who made his debut in the first team at the age of 16 and has played 135 games in the AlpsHL, is valuable at both ends of the ice and is ready for the next step in his development. He will wear the number 16 on his back this year.

David Galassiti is also returning to his old stomping ground: the striker, who was trained in Neumarkt, Berlin and Salzburg, moved to Val Gardena in 2018 and spent a total of four seasons in the HCG jersey. In 2022, he scored 22 points, six of them in the playoffs, before returning to Unterland. He impressed at his home club in the last two seasons with a total of 27 points. Galassiti has chosen to wear number 61 in the coming season.
