Before the season began, the club management had left one foreign player position open. After careful consideration and in-depth analysis, this position has now been filled by Claes Endre. The Swedish goalkeeper will arrive in Val Gardena on Friday and will wear number 53.
The 30-year-old was born in Stockholm and received his training – with the exception of a two-year stint in the United States – in his native Sweden. Endre steadily worked his way up with strong performances and in 2020 made it to the Swedish Allsvenskan, widely regarded as the best second division in Europe. Playing for the traditional club AIK, he became the starting goaltender and boasted save percentages of over 92 percent.
Duo with Tomas Shill
Endre established himself in Sweden's second division in the following years, showcasing his talent at IF Björklöven and Södertälje SK. There, he formed a goaltending duo with Tomas Sholl, a well-known figure in South Tyrol, winning 13 of 19 games. This summer, Endre sought a transfer from Vimmerby HC, but the move fell through. He was subsequently reactivated during the season before an injury sidelined him, resulting in only one appearance. Now, Endre, who has played 154 games in the Allsvenskan, is back in top form and highly motivated to give his all for HC Gröden.Edit Profile
