The Wipptal Broncos have strengthened their roster for the upcoming season in the Alps Hockey League with a young Latvian player. Although only 20 years old, the forward already brings considerable experience to South Tyrol.

Kristers Ansons is the new man in the Broncos' jersey. The young forward and U20 national team player hails from Latvia and comes to Sterzing from the first-division team Mogo. In his home country, he has made a strong impression in recent years and established himself as one of the most promising talents in the league. Over the last three seasons, he has amassed an impressive 91 points in the league.

Ansons was trained at HS Riga but also spent a year in Canada with Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. The Broncos have high expectations for the 6'4" (1,92 m) and 200 lb (98 kg) left-handed shooter, despite his young age. "The club is gaining a dynamic and dangerous scorer who has already demonstrated impressive performances at the national and international levels," stated a press release from the Wipptal-based team.
