Shortly before the start of the league: The Cavaliers are gearing up

The Alps Hockey League kicks off on Saturday. Shortly before the first match against the Zeller Eisbären, the Unterland Cavaliers have strengthened their squad once again.

Oliver Smith is the name of the young man who is expected to score a lot of points for the Unterland Cavaliers in the future. On Tuesday, the AlpsHL club introduced its last-minute new signing. Smith is only 21 years old and will be playing his first season in adult ice hockey in Neumarkt. So far, the Canadian has played in the junior leagues in his home country, but has really excelled there.


Last season, Smith scored an incredible 72 points (115 goals, 51 assists) in 64 games in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. Now the youngster wants to make a splash in Europe. With his portfolio, Smith is an ideal fit for the Cavaliers squad, who are fielding a very young and hungry team this year.
