Patrick Madsen will stabilize the Eagles' defense and replace the Canadian Conor Adli The 31-year-old Dane began his career in his hometown of Herning and, apart from one season, has always played there. During this time he won the Danish championship and the Danish cup twice. In 15 years, the 1,96 m tall and 99 kg heavy defender scored 136 points, but his greatest strength lies in clearing in front of his own goal.

Merano has Jim Bedard as the new goalie coach. The 67-year-old is a Detroit legend and a multiple Stanley Cup winner.
