Merano loses the second exceptional talent

HC Meran had to say goodbye to two of its best players in the course of a week, as a striker moved on to Germany on Tuesday.

About a year ago, HC Meran lured the two Canadians Calder Anderson and Nolan Ritchie to the spa town. But a week ago, the first one was already gone again: Anderson moved to the Heilbronner Falken in the third German league. The top scorer of the Alps Hockey League was followed to the south of Germany by his friend and congenial partner Ritchie, as the South Tyrolean club announced on Tuesday. "We would like to thank him for his commitment and the great season and wish him all the best for the future, both in his sporting and private life!" wrote the Eagles on social media.

Both players came to the Adler together and both moved on to Heilbronn together. This meant that Meran lost two of its best strikers, as Ritchie also impressed in 43 games with a total of 80 points (32 goals and 40 assists). The creativity and effectiveness that the Canadians brought to the ice together with Anderson will be greatly missed by the Adler in the coming season. Nevertheless, fans became aware over the course of the season that these two exceptional talents would be difficult to keep in the AlpsHL. This has now happened.
