David Tauferer is staying in Ritten.

Ritten signs its next homegrown talent

Another Ritten native has extended his contract. David Tauferer will also be playing in defense for the Ritten Buam SkyAlps in the 2026/27 season.

The 21-year-old is thus entering his fourth season in the Rittner Buam SkyAlps jersey. The Ritten native has played for the club from the high plateau his entire career, only playing for HC Gherdëina in the U17 and U19 teams, when they formed a joint team with the Rittner Buam.

Tauferer has developed tremendously both physically and as a player, which has led to him seeing more and more playing time in defense. Last season, Tauferer played a total of 44 games, contributing three assists. The right-handed defender has a total of 128 appearances and nine points (one goal) for Ritten.

“David Tauferer can be described as a classic ‘stay-at-home defender.’ He has a good physical build and has taken another step forward in the past year. We hope this continues,” said sporting directors Dan Tudin and Alexander Eisath, pleased with the latest signing.
