Ritten takes revenge against Val Gardena

The Rittner Buam and the HC Gröden played their last test match before the start of the Alps Hockey League on Tuesday evening.

Last Thursday, Val Gardena won the friendly match against Ritten away by 3:1, and now the Buam have hit back, winning the friendly match in the Pranives of Selva with 5:2.

The boys fell behind once in the first third through Schiavone (via rebound), but they quickly had the answer ready and Markus Spinell equalized after a Simon Kostner pass. In the second third, Val Gardena took the lead again through Deluca after a McGowan pass (25.40), but Ritten landed a triple strike.

Three Ritten Gates

First, Kostner made it 2-2 (28.17) while outnumbered and after a mistake by Val Gardena goalie Paul Hofer, then Spinell, also outnumbered, profited from a passing error by Val Gardena and scored the 3-2 for the boys (29.08) and finally Diego Cuglietta converted a Hannes Uffelmann pass to make it 4-2 (32.20). In the final third, Kostner secured the final score of 5-2 in the power play (44.57).

Now the championship is upon us: The Rittner Buam will be playing at HC Meran on Saturday from 19.30 p.m., while HC Gröden will be playing away at Kitzbühel (19 p.m.).
