Friendly match: Ritten narrowly defeats Asiago

The Rittner Buam celebrated a narrow 4:3 victory in a friendly match against HC Asiago at the Ritten Arena on Friday evening.

In front of around 150 spectators, an intense duel developed that remained exciting until the final stages. The visitors from Asiago – who will play in the AlpsHL next season – got off to a better start and took an early lead through Fallou Mbow on the power play. But the Rittners responded promptly: Giovanni Cuglietta equalized shortly afterwards, before Tobias Graf put the home side in front for the first time.

Although Filippo Rigoni was able to equalize again, captain Simon Kostner restored the lead before the first break. Thus, Rittner entered the second period with a 3-2 lead.

There, it was Cuglietta again who increased the lead to 4-2 on the power play (24.15:47.25), scoring the decisive goal later on. Asiago fought back through Nicholas Porco (XNUMX:XNUMX), but the Rittners defended their narrow lead for the remainder of the game.

HC Asiago will return to the Ritten Arena next Saturday for the start of the championship.
