Ten years and 394 games: Kevin Fink leaves Ritten

Kevin Fink, a product of the club's youth system, made it from the junior ranks to the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, the team in the Alps Hockey League. There, he gradually rose to become one of the team's key players and leaders. Now, this journey is coming to an end: The 27-year-old will no longer be playing for the Buam next season.

This means one of the club's most experienced players is leaving Ritten/Renon. With 394 appearances in nine seasons, Kevin Fink has long since established himself as a key player for the blue-and-reds. The powerful striker made his debut in the 2015/16 season, where he promptly won the Italian championship with his hometown club. Fink missed the following season entirely due to injury, but returned in 2017.

Two more Italian league titles followed (2017/18 and 2018/19), along with three Italian Super Cups (2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20), an Italian Cup (2018/19), and his first goals, of which he scored 70 in a total of 394 appearances. He also provided 87 assists, bringing his goal tally to 157.

Fink experienced his most successful season in 2023/24. Under then-coach Tray Tuomie, the Ritten Buam first became Italian champions and then Alps Hockey League champions. "That was also the season I'll remember the most. Of course, all titles are nice, but under Tuomie the team was tremendous and I personally played at my best," recalls the 27-year-old.

He was a key player at Ritten.

Indeed, the left-handed shooter racked up 48 scorer points (22 goals) in 54 games, becoming a key player. Fink also served as assistant captain for the last two seasons. In 2024/25, he added an Italian Super Cup to his personal trophy haul.

Now the Rittner Buam chapter has come to an end. "They were wonderful years here on the Ritten. Playing here as a local is of course something special, after all, you're playing with your friends on the team. I also always enjoyed playing ice hockey in my youth under Stan Holba," Fink reflects.

The Ritten Buam also deeply regret his departure: "Kevin Fink has been an important part of our team for many years, both on and off the ice. Of course, it's a shame that we also have to say goodbye to a Ritten native. Nevertheless, we wish him all the best for his future sporting and personal endeavors, and who knows, perhaps we'll see each other again someday."
