The champion receives the leader

The scheduled game date of November 25th is immediately before the games of the international ice hockey tournament that will be held in Asiago. This means there will be a clash between the leaders and the fifth-placed team on Tuesday.

This has not yet been able to meet the high demands of the season so far and is still lagging behind the performances from the championship year. However, there has been a clear upward trend in the last few games: Strazzabosco and Co. were able to win all of the last five games and collected important away victories, such as the one at Ritten or the 2-1 win on the last matchday in Pontebba. In particular, top scorer Michael Henrich (19 points) and goalkeeper Daniel Bellissimo (catch rate of 94%) have helped the traditional team from the high plateau to regain its former strength.

However, HC Pustertal has also returned to success and was able to make up for the 2-6 defeat against Valpellice with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Ritten. Thanks to the away win, the “Wolves” took off in the table and extended their lead over their pursuers Ritten, Bozen and Valpellice to 8 points.

On Tuesday evening in the Odegar Stadium, HC Pustertal will appear for the first time with the jersey advertising of the new round sponsor. The Bruneck-based company Wolfsgruber will appear as the main sponsor on jerseys and advertising space until the end of the upcoming third round of the championship.

On Tuesday evening, league leaders HC Pustertal have to play against the reigning Italian champions HC Asiago. The match on matchday 21 was postponed due to Asiago's participation in the Continental Cup.
