Off to the island

Great Britain is currently very popular among ice hockey stars. A long-time HCB striker has moved to the island, and other ICE players could follow.

On Saturday, HC Bozen Domenic Alberga on his social media channels. He is leaving after 285 games, 46 goals and 74 assists in white and red. Now it is also clear where he is going: Alberga will play for the Dundee Stars in the British EIHL.

In the same league, not in Scotland but in England, another Italian-Canadian is expected to earn his living next season, namely Dan CatenacciHe is likely to follow his Italian national team colleague and former Kalterer Daniel Tedesco to the Guildford Flames. The deal has not yet been confirmed, however, and there are said to be other interested parties in the 31-year-old striker.

One thing is certain: Catenacci will leave South Tyrol after six years. In the summer of 2018, just a few months after playing for the New York Rangers in the NHL, he moved to HC Bozen. From there, four years later, he moved on to Bruneck, where he made 77 appearances and scored 39 points for the Wolves in the last two seasons. Catenacci also played in the home World Cup in Bozen in May.
