Played for HC Bozen last year: Mitch and Cole Hults © HCB

Old acquaintances: This is what happens to Sholl, Hults & Co. in exile in South Tyrol

Last season they played in the ICE Hockey League for HCB Südtirol Alperia or HC Pustertal, this year they are trying their luck in other leagues. We are talking about foreign guest workers. SportNews took a closer look at them and found that only a few have managed to make a career move.

Unlike HC Pustertal, the core of the team at the Füchse remained the same. With Mike Dalhuisen, Mitch and Cole Hults and Matt Frattin and Ryan Culkin five legionnaires left the club. If the latter two players remained without a club this season, the Hults brothers and Dalhuisen moved to the east.

The Americans, who were expected to move to a major European league in the summer, signed with HKM Zvolen in the top Slovak league. With last year's finalists, the brothers and sisters are lagging behind their own expectations. Zvolen is outside the direct playoff zone and has lost six of its last seven games. Mitch Hults has 30 points in 36 games, but has the team's worst + statistic at -13. Brother Cole is behind at -9 and 26 points. With the Romanian team Gyergoy, where ex-HCB crack Sebastien Sylvestre is also under contract, Dalhuisen is in 6th place in the First League. Because the Dutchman only joined the team after the start of the season, he only played 16 games. Nevertheless, he has already received 46 penalty minutes.

Archambault is in a good mood

Like the Hults brothers, last year's HCP top scorer also earns money Olivier Archambault in Slovakia his rolls. The 30-year-old is under contract with the undisputed and surprising league leaders Spisska Nova Ves and leads the league's scorers with 47 points. Filip Ahl and Marc Olivier Roy are also hunting for goals in Slovakia. The Swede is the captain in Trencin, but has missed 15 games. Nevertheless, his contract was extended early by two years in January. Roy has an impressive 31 points - even though he is well behind a pre-playoff place with second-to-last Nove Zamky.

A crowd favorite at the HCP: Tomas Sholl © HC Pustertal/I. Foppa

The one who was fired last year after just eight games Morten Jensen Meanwhile, his long-standing club Rungsted Seier Capital is seamlessly continuing the performance of recent years: Although the team is only in the middle of the table, Jensen has outstanding values. With 36 points in 35 games, he is the highest-scoring defender in the league, and he is also third in the + rating with +27. Things are going well for his compatriot too Emil Kristensen in France: With Rouen, the Dane, who has 29 points after 24 games, leads the table.

Plays in the best league Tomas Sholl: Last year's HCP goalie is in second place in the Swedish second division with Södertälje behind the Damian Clara club Brynäs. His stats are not outstanding with 2 wins and 13 defeats and a catch rate of 11 percent. But the table situation speaks in favor of the American. Storm flop Aaron Luchuk has returned to the North American ECHL, where he scored 28 points in 19 games. The one that was also sorted out last year Ben Newhouse did not find a new employer while Ziga Pavlin returned to his hometown club Olimpija Ljubljana. 18 points in 32 games are impressive.
