Asiago: A top striker leaves, a new one comes

ICE club Asiago is busy on the transfer market. Now the Venetians have signed an interesting new personnel, but at the same time they have let another one go.

Anthony Salinitri has been one of the top players at Asiago over the past two years. He was voted MVP in the 2021/22 AlpsHL season, scoring 60 points in 50 games. The Italian-Canadian also made an impact in the ICE and collected 48 points in 45 games. Now Asiago and Salinitri part ways. “Salinitri has decided not to extend his contract in Asiago,” said a statement from Stellati. It is not yet clear where the 25-year-old attacker is headed.

Meanwhile, Asiago quickly found a replacement in William Rapuzzi. The 33-year-old US boy played in Switzerland, Finland, Norway, EBEL (with Dornbirn) and Slovakia during his career. His last season was marked by injury, which is why Rapuzzi was only able to play 12 games - three for Slovan Bratislava, nine for EHC Olten in the second Swiss league. The North American showed that he is a reliable scorer in the seasons in which he was fit: he scored 67 times in 67 games for Slovan Bratislava, and in two EBEL seasons with Dornbirn he had 79 points in 92 appearances.
