Bolzano brings back a champion player

HC Bozen announced its next new signing on Thursday morning. It is an Italian who is getting a second chance with the Foxes.

Michele Marchetti is now a player for HCB Südtirol Alperia again. The 29-year-old national player is moving from Asiago to Bozen and is expected to strengthen the offense there as another new local player.

The striker from the Fassa Valley is thus getting a new chance with the Foxes. Michele Marchetti already played for HC Bozen from 2017 to 2019 - at the time alongside his older brother Stefano. During this time he made 112 appearances and scored 14 points.

Although he was crowned EBEL champion with Bozen, he was only able to make use of his great talent in phases. This was one of the reasons why he lost playing time and then preferred to move to the AlpsHL with his home club Fassa in the summer of 2019. From there he went on to Asiago and finally back to the ICE Hockey League with the Stellati. In Veneto, the left-handed shooter, who has since matured, recently played a key role. He wants to take on this role with his old, new employer as well.
“I am a completely different player now, more mature and with a different mentality.” Michael Marchetti

"I'm coming back to Bolzano as a completely different player, more mature and with a different mentality," explains Marchetti, who adds: "I know what it means to win the championship here; I wasn't a top performer in 2018, so I want to do my part this season. Playing here with the national team in front of over 5000 fans was like déjà vu for me and this gave me even more motivation to play here again."

The previous HCB squad:

Attack: Daniel Mantenuto, Dustin Gazley, Daniel Frank, Luca Frigo (all confirmed), Anthony Salinitri, Matt Bradley, Michele Marchetti (all new)
