Bolzano lets its defensive fighter go

As HCB Südtirol Alperia officially announced on Tuesday, Dylan Di Perna will not receive a new contract – a rather surprising piece of news.

Dylan Di Perna has been a fixture in the HCB defense for the past few years. The Italian-Canadian played the last six seasons in Bolzano and impressed fans with his tenacious, straightforward, and uncompromising style of play. Now Di Perna has to leave the Foxes, as there will be no new contract for the 30-year-old right-handed shooter.

During his time in South Tyrol, Di Perna also earned a place on the Italian national team. At the Olympic Games in Milan in February, Di Perna was a key player for the Blue Team in defense.

Admittedly, Di Perna rarely reached his full potential last season. He was also frequently injured. His body had repeatedly let him down in previous years as well. It is not yet known where the man from the Canadian province of Ontario will go next.
