Arwin Atwal will play at HCP next season.

The wolf den has a muscle man richer

After Ryan Stanton, HC Pustertal has landed another defender who has a lot of physical strength. Arvin Atwal comes to Pustertal from the DEL and will ensure the necessary water displacement in front of the box.

Atwal is 1,83 meters tall and therefore not necessarily a giant. But he weighs an astonishing 93 kilograms, which makes it clear: HC Pustertal has brought a real muscleman into its ranks.

The 2021-year-old Canadian has been playing in European ice hockey since the 22/27 season. After making 221 appearances in the ECHL (96 scorer points) and 31 appearances in the AHL (5 scorer points) in his North American homeland, he moved to Spisska Nova Ves in Slovakia. Last season he earned a contract in the DEL with the Bietigheim Steelers via the Cincinnati Cyvlones, but they had to accept relegation to the DEL2 in the spring.

In the coming season, Atwal will wear the yellow and black HCP jersey. “I'm really looking forward to coming to Pustertal and hope that I can get the fans out of their seats with my style of play once or twice,” the Canadian said. His coach Tomek Valtonen knows Atwal from his time at Dukla Michalovce: “He is a right-handed shooter, a good ice skater and has good puck handling skills. “Atwal is a very tough two-way defender with offensive potential who will suit us very well in terms of personality,” the Wolves trainer is convinced.
