The Sparkasse Arena remains McClure’s magic chamber

HC Bozen has further boosted its squad planning this Friday morning with a contract extension and at the same time tied its top technician to the club for at least another ten months.

Brad McClure will continue to work his magic hands on the ice of the Sparkasse Arena. The 30-year-old striker from Canada has extended his contract with HCB Südtirol Alperia for the coming season.

McClure, who is in a relationship with a woman from Trentino and has long since settled in this country, moved from DEL club Augsburg to Bolzano in the summer of 2022. Before his engagement in Germany, he was active in the North American ECHL and AHL leagues. With the Foxes, the versatile offensive player has so far made 127 league appearances, scoring 39 goals and providing 36 assists.

In search of consistency

McClure caresses the puck with his stick like no other at HCB and can dance through the defense like a figure skater. However, there were two shortcomings last season: consistency and goal scoring. The Canadian was repeatedly absent for several games; 15 goals is not enough for a man of his quality. McClure will try to significantly improve this statistic next winter. And he will do so again in the HC Bozen jersey.

Brad McClure has been playing for HCB since 2022, including in the CHL.

This is what McClure says

"Bolzano is a special place for me. I have had the opportunity to experience two wonderful seasons and I can't wait to start the third: I believe that this great team is only missing the final step that we deserve. Our goal for next year is to reach the end and we want to achieve this together with the fans who have always shown us their support and affection."

The previous HCB squad:
