This referee makes history again

Referee Julia Kainberger is the first woman to referee a game in the Champions Hockey League. She is not only the first and only female referee, but also the only Austrian – including her male colleagues.

The 29-year-old refereed the game between the ZSC Lions and the Straubing Tigers in Zurich (3:2). Just one day later, Kainberger was back in action and ensured law and order in Geneva in the match between defending champions Servette Geneva and the Finnish club Ilves Tampere (4:3).
