111 games, 97 points – yes, Matt Bradley has delivered for HC Bolzano over the past two years. And quite impressively at that. The Italian-Canadian, who now also plays for Italy's national team, is one of the Foxes' key offensive players. Therefore, the team is delighted that Bradley has signed a new contract for the upcoming season, especially since his continued presence in Bolzano was anything but certain.
Bradley had been linked with a move. Olimpija Ljubljana, in particular, had shown interest in the Vancouver scorer. But in the end, the 29-year-old remained loyal to HC Bern. On Thursday morning, the Foxes announced Bradley's contract extension, meaning he will begin his third season with the Red and Whites.
Highlights in the Champions League and at the Olympics
It's no surprise that Bradley was high on the shopping list of several clubs. Especially since the forward not only scored in the ICE Hockey League but also shone in the international spotlight. Last season, Bradley was Bolzano's top scorer in the Champions Hockey League with three goals and four assists. And at the Olympic Games in Milan, he scored a goal each against hockey powerhouses Sweden and Slovakia.Bradley is entering his third season. © Vanna Antonello
For this reason alone, the contract extension of the hockey acrobat is a major win for HCB. "I'm incredibly excited to be wearing the white and red jersey for another season," said Bradley. "It makes me very happy to be back. I can't wait to get back to work with the guys and give it my all to bring the title back to Bolzano. Enjoy the rest of the summer, see you soon!"
