Doping bombshell: Graz star kicked out

A bombshell at the reigning champions of the ICE Hockey League: The Graz99ers have dismissed Kilian Zündel without notice.

The 25-year-old received an intravenous infusion after the conclusion of the last ICE Hockey League final series, thereby violating the anti-doping regulations of the International Ice Hockey Federation. As a result, Zündel has now been banned for two years, as announced by the Austrian Anti-Doping Legal Commission. Zündel accepts the ban and waives any right of appeal.

“I am, of course, fully aware that I made a mistake. However, it is all the more important for me to emphasize that I have not ingested or been administered any prohibited substances that violate doping regulations. It was simply a vitamin infusion for regeneration after a grueling season,” Zündel was quoted as saying in a press release.
