Berti is moving to Milan after having spent the majority of his sporting development in Switzerland. The highlight of his career so far was being included in the HC Sierre squad for the successful final phase of the last Swiss League season.
Born on September 27, 2004, in Aosta, the goalkeeper (183 cm, 80 kg, left-handed) was trained in the youth program of HC Aosta Gladiators before moving to Switzerland at a young age. There, he continued his development in the youth academies of Lausanne HC, Morges, HC Ajoie, and Genève-Servette HC. In the 2023/24 season, Berti made his Swiss League debut for HC Sierre, appearing in two games with a save percentage of 95,5 percent.
Trained in Switzerland
The following season, he played two more games for Sierre, but primarily for Martigny in the MyHockeyLeague. Last year, the 21-year-old returned to Geneva and played in the U21 championship, appearing in 23 games as the starting goaltender. His performance earned him another opportunity in the Swiss League: he played seven league games for the Bellinzona Snakes, achieving a save percentage of 90,8 percent, before returning to HC Sierre for the final stretch of the season.Berti also participated in two U20 World Championships with the Italian U20 national team. He will form the goalkeeping duo together with former Puster Valley and Bolzano player Jake Smith.
