A long-time crack leaves the Foxes

At HCB Südtirol Alperia, work is currently underway on the squad for the 2024/25 season. On Saturday, the Füchse announced the next departure - and again it is a long-standing star.

285 games, 46 goals and 74 assists. That is the result that Domenic Alberga has collected in the last five seasons in the jersey of HC Bozen. The Italian-Canadian is Angelo Miceli the second player who is not offered a new contract after years of service to the team.

Alberga joined HC Bozen for the 2019/20 Covid season and impressed right away with 27 points. The 31-year-old probably played his best year in the 2022/23 season, when he collected 34 points but was not crowned champion. Instead, EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated the championship title in the Sparkasse Arena.

So now Alberga is leaving the HCB. Where he will go is not yet clear. Read what Bozen's sports director and managing director Dieter Knoll says in the SportNews interview about further squad planning here.
