A loud HCB bang at the end of the year

The HCB will finish 2024 in first place. Although the Foxes are level on points with Ferhervar, the Bozen team has played two games less than the Hungarians. On Monday evening, the Talferstädter deservedly won 1-3 against the extremely strong Villacher SV.
After recent rather lackluster and lackluster performances, the HCB seemed to have been transformed against Villach. It almost seems as if the Foxes knew when they needed to step it up a gear. After all, the guests from Carinthia had won 11 games in a row before their appearance in Bolzano. However, the home team only had to worry about a late goal against the Eagles in the last five minutes.
Villach fired a whopping 41 shots at the goal. But Sam Harvey once again stood out in goal for the Foxes. The Canadian is playing the best season in his HCB history this year and was always there to help. A defender, Dylan Di Perna, was named Man of the Match (he was loudly celebrated by the fans after the game).
The highlights
HCB superiority | Towards the end of the first period, the HCB took the lead through McClure, who scored an unstoppable shot from the right against Lamoureux into the corner. A little later, Frank missed a great opportunity to make it 2-0. Immediately before the first break, Bradley missed a penalty. |
Foxes power continues | Exactly 47 seconds into the middle period, and the second goal is already scored. Mantenuto serves Di Perna, who makes the home crowd cheer with a blue-liner. The Foxes don't let the Eagles' goal after 28 minutes affect them: just 160 seconds later, Salinitri sets up Helweka beautifully, who scores to make it 3-1. |
Once again excitement | Richter scores after a pass from Holway to make it 5:2 with 3 minutes to go. The Carinthians make the game exciting again, but the home team defends the result over time. |
Not only HC Bozen, but also HC Pustertal won on Monday: The Wolves won in Vorarlberg. For the HCB, things continue on New Year’s Day with a guest appearance in Innsbruck.
