Ice hockey wedding in Kaltern: Angelo Miceli said “yes”

For years, Angelo Miceli was one of the figureheads of HC Bozen. Now the ice hockey star from Montreal has married his South Tyrolean girlfriend in Kaltern.

He came as an Italian-Canadian and stayed as a South Tyrolean: that is the story of Angelo Miceli. The likeable ice hockey professional from Montreal married his girlfriend Gerda from Kaltern on Saturday. The two said "I do" in the parish church of Kaltern.

In addition to family and friends, some of Miceli's ice hockey colleagues were also among the wedding party. Bolzano captain Daniel Frank, ex-Bolzano captain Anton Bernard, Pustertal goalie Andreas Bernard and Bolzano goalkeeper Gianluca Vallini attended the wedding.

Found a new home in South Tyrol

Angelo Miceli was signed by HC Bozen in October 2017. For the now 30-year-old, this was his first stop in Europe - and a stop that would have a lasting impact on his life. In South Tyrol, or more precisely in Kaltern, the Italian-Canadian found his private happiness with his girlfriend Gerda. In October 2022, Miceli, whose grandparents come from southern Italy, proposed to his sweetheart, and now the wedding has followed.

In terms of sport, Miceli has left his mark at HC Bozen. Since October 2017, he has played continuously for the Foxes, for whom he scored 404 goals and assisted 90 goals in 148 games. The big highlight was the ICE and EBEL victory in spring 2018. This year, Miceli's contract with the White-Reds was not renewed, and so the skilled technician will soon start a new adventure. As a new husband, mind you.
