Enrico Miglioranzi ends his career

After the disappointing quarter-final exit against Olimpija Ljubljana, the first squad decision at HC Bozen has been made: Enrico Miglioranzi will no longer be part of the Foxes because he is ending his career.

Just days after the season ended prematurely, the Italian announced his retirement. This comes as quite a surprise: After tearing his cruciate ligament in the 2024/25 season, the veteran worked his way back into the Füchse Berlin lineup. Even though he was relegated to the stands at times, he made 46 appearances for HCB last season. Nevertheless, he has now decided to end his career.

The 34-year-old defenseman from Asiago can look back on an impressive career: In 19 years and 989 games as a professional, he won seven Italian championship titles, two titles in the Alps Hockey League and three Italian Supercups – all with Asiago – and also the EBEL with the Foxes in 2014.

A fixed component of HCB

"Tanzi" primarily played for Stellati during his career, spanning a total of 14 seasons. However, he also left a lasting mark on the Foxes: In Bolzano, even before his 23rd birthday, he participated in HCB's first EBEL season, which culminated in winning the Karl Nedwed Trophy. In 2022, he finally returned to the provincial capital. Furthermore, he boasts 111 appearances for the Italian national team, with whom he participated in three World Championships in the top division and one in Division IA.

"The entire club thanks Enrico for his great fighting spirit, his tenacity and his loyalty over all these years in white and red, as well as for his contribution to Italian ice hockey. We wish him all the best for his personal and professional future," HCB wrote in a farewell statement.
